Get to know Callum
Callum joined Argentis in 2022 as one of the youngest independent financial planners. He started his career as an apprentice in a family-run firm and now has a decade of experience in the profession. He is dedicated to providing the support clients need to make confident, informed decisions about their financial future.
Offering a holistic approach, he focuses on building long-term, meaningful relationships with his clients. He believes that with the right guidance and by simplifying complex financial information, clients can work towards achieving financial security and peace of mind. One of the most rewarding parts of his role is seeing clients achieve their goals and enjoy a happy retirement.
Outside of work, he finds the most enjoyment in travelling. He also stays active by trying his hand at various sports, with cycling and bouldering being his latest pursuits. On Sundays, you will find him at his local coffee shop in Portsmouth, enjoying quality time with friends, family, and their pocket bully, Frank.
In the spotlight
What do you think best describes the types of clients you advise?
I advise a wide range of clients, though for the most part they are ordinary, everyday people who have made sensible decisions along the way so they can retire comfortably.
My approach to explaining complex financial topics is:
My approach is to make it relatable to whoever is in front of me. I’ve always found the best way to explain anything complex is to connect it to the individual – whether that’s through sports and football tables, or, more recently, using an allotment and the particular vegetables growing in it.
What do you enjoy doing during your annual leave?
Whenever possible, I like to travel abroad. As long as I can remember, I’ve loved going away, trying new foods, and exploring new places. I often say that every spare penny goes on travel.
I’ve spent a lot of time exploring Europe, and now I’m ticking off as many long-haul trips as I can – my next stop is Hong Kong and South Korea. I’m also the kind of person who tries their absolute best to speak the local lingo wherever I am.
