Get to know Paul
Paul has been with the Argentis Group since 2007 as an Independent Financial Planner, with qualifications that allow him to advise in areas such as investments, pensions, later life care, and Inheritance Tax planning.
His focus is on building long-term relationships to help clients enjoy their wealth, ensure their family is supported in a way that aligns with their needs, and appreciate the value of their investments, recognising that value is not always about growth.
Outside of work, Paul enjoys supporting his three children in their sporting endeavours, including football, rugby, running, and athletics. He also finds time to take his dog for runs in the South Downs. Thankfully, his very understanding partner, Hannah, helps keep everyone in check with their busy diary.
The Financial Conduct Authority does not regulate tax planning or Inheritance Tax planning advice.
In the spotlight
What do you think best describes the types of clients you advise?
I have a wide range of clients, from those just starting on their journey to those who are really beginning to enjoy the fruits of their labour. I enjoy nothing more than speaking to a client who has achieved one of the goals we spoke about many years earlier.
The most adventurous thing I have ever done is:
I have always enjoyed adventurous activities, whether that’s skydiving, bungee jumping, or ultra running, but surely the biggest adventure is having three children, as that brings new and unexpected challenges every day.
The most important quality in a financial planner is:
Trustworthiness is key to any financial relationship, and that includes being able to have tough conversations with every client. I do not always deliver news that people want to hear, but it is better to be honest and upfront than allow issues to continue without action. Once a client trusts their planner, there is a far greater chance of achieving their goals because they are willing to continue taking advice.
