Get to know Nathan
Nathan has been a financial planner since 1999, having previously worked in insurance for a global company in Ipswich. With more than 26 years of experience in the financial services profession, he has developed the skills and knowledge to provide advice on retirement planning, investments, Inheritance Tax planning, and protection.
His client base is very diverse, ranging from young professionals just starting their financial planning journey to older clients completing theirs. Nathan believes it is both a privilege and a responsibility to be entrusted with clients’ private affairs, hopes, and concerns. He feels that being a good planner requires not only a solid foundation of technical knowledge but, more importantly, the ability to listen and understand what truly matters to each client.
Outside of work, Nathan’s spare time revolves around his family and watching football. Although he has hung up his football boots, he still enjoys taking part in the occasional charity match.
The Financial Conduct Authority does not regulate tax planning or Inheritance Tax planning advice.

What about your job is rewarding?
What I enjoy most about my role as a financial planner is the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. Financial decisions often carry significant emotional weight – they affect security, family, future aspirations, and peace of mind. Being trusted to guide clients through those decisions is both a privilege and a responsibility that I genuinely value.
The biggest misconception about financial planning is:
A common misconception is that financial planning is a one-off event – something you do once and then leave untouched. In practice, it is an ongoing process that evolves with life changes, economic conditions, and personal circumstances. Regular reviews and adjustments are essential to ensure plans remain relevant and effective.
What do you like doing in the evenings/on the weekends?
I enjoy spending time with my family. I am married to Lianne and have four children and three grandchildren. A big passion of mine is football and, now that I no longer play, I am a season ticket holder at Ipswich Town and attend matches with three of my children.
