Get to know Brian
Brian is a qualified solicitor (non-practising) and holds the Advanced Financial Planning Qualification (Level 6), with a background in financial services compliance prior to working as a Financial Planner since 2009.
He works with a mix of individual and trust clients, helping them realise their financial plans. He focuses on his clients’ objectives, setting out the pros and cons of different options so they can make informed decisions about achieving their goals.
The changes brought about by successive governments in recent years have re-emphasised the need to keep plans under review and adapt where necessary. One of the aspects Brian enjoys most about his role is the ongoing relationships he builds with clients, working alongside them to see their plans through over many years.
Brian is married with two grown-up children. A perfect weekend for him involves playing tennis, watching football or rugby, and enjoying a meal with friends or family.
The Financial Conduct Authority does not regulate advice on trusts.
In the spotlight
What ‘financial freedom’ means to me:
Having choices in life. They say money can’t buy you happiness, but it certainly helps!
What makes a great client-adviser relationship is:
Trust is key. This is built by providing sensible advice and developing long-term relationships, reviewing financial plans each year to ensure they remain on track, and making adjustments as circumstances change.
What do you enjoy doing during your annual leave?
I like to go on cycling trips with a few friends a couple of times a year. Family holidays are the highlight of my year – we usually hire a villa somewhere warm and enjoy BBQs and playing cards.
