What is sterling silver?

This term is used to refer to the purity of the metal used. The hallmark or stamp, which you will find on jewellery, is ‘925’ which means it contains 925 parts per thousand silver. The balance is made up of elements (usually copper) that promote shine and durability. Items over 7.78 grams carry the full British hallmark. Sterling silver is nickel free. When people talk about ‘real’ or ‘solid silver’, they usually mean sterling silver.

 

How do I clean silver?

We recommend using a good quality silver cleaning cloth and to avoid your jewellery coming into contact with chemicals such as hairspray and perfume which can permanently mark silver. We also recommend that you store your silver in a jewellery box or airtight bag; this helps the metal to keep its shine.

 

I have had allergic reactions to some metals before, is this safe for me?

Most people who have an allergic reaction to jewellery are affected by nickel. Sterling silver is nickel free. Check the jewellery that you usually wear, if it has a 925 hallmark on it then you can safely wear anything here.

 

Do you have any earrings for non-pierced ears?

Yes. Many of our drop earrings can be converted into clip-ons. Anything with a silver wire can be changed at no extra cost.

 

How do you send my order to me?

All our jewellery is sent in sturdy boxes by first class post. A signature is required on delivery. Please consider this when deciding where to have your purchases sent to.

 

I am buying something as a gift, do you offer gift-wrapping?

All our jewellery is beautifully presented in complimentary gift boxes  and can be delivered direct to the recipient. If you wish to do this, please remember that a copy of the invoice will be included with the order.

 
 

I have changed my mind about what I have ordered, what can I do?

If you want to send something back or exchange it for something else, please let us know by email [address] within 7 days. We are happy to accept items subject to our returns policy, which can be viewed here . Jewellery must be returned unworn in its original packaging. Please note that to hygiene reasons we are unable to accept earrings as returns.

 

Can I return items bought online at your shops?

We can only exchange jewellery bought from our branches at Liverpool Street and Victoria at those locations. If you have chosen something online and would like to change it, please return it by post following the appropriate procedure 

 

What length of chain do I need?

It depends on the size of the pendant and how you plan to wear it. Most people want a pendant to sit close to the neck so most of our jewellery is supplied with either a 16” or 18” chain. Other popular lengths are 26” where the pendant hits the bustline and 30-32” where the pendant falls below the bustline.
